The report of Photo Exhibition at Tehran University, 1-2 May2007

IPPNW-Iran started it's activity by holding a photo exhibition at Tehran university (one of the main universities in Iran).It was organized by the eight main members of IPPNW-Iran and consisted of 5 parts:

          Part 1.A photo exhibition of peaceful activities containing       photos about:

·         The participitation of Iranian representatives in 17^th international congress Helsinki-Finland (Sept 2006).

·         The visit of the SLMK delegation to Iran in Jan 2007 and their meeting with the Iranian CW victims at Sasan hospital.

·         The travel of NWIP medical students to Iran and the workshops being held (Apr 2007).

·         The Iranian CW victims during Iran-Iraq war.

·         The victims of Hiroshima atomic bombing.

         Part 2.Introducing IPPNW, NWIP and SCWVS by distributing some brochures along with oral explanations of the main members including:

·         The aims of these organizations.

·         Defining the different possible fields of activity.

·         The activities being done till now at regional, national and international levels.

        Part          3.Attracting new members:

·         Distributing membership forms.

·         Asking the new members about the activities they would like to do.

·         Joining of more than 100 students! (About 60 new members joined on the first day).

        Part         4.The Target X project first performance in Iran!

·         Designing the Target X along with introducing the NW countries.

·         Distributing some leaflets and brochures about NW and it's effects.

·         Entertaining the visitors by sharing candy and sweet.

       Part         5.The reaction of the Iranian students:

·         The visitors seemed so enthusiastic to be familiar with these organizations and their peaceful activities.

·         Most of them wanted to be a real active member.

·         But all of them! were agree with NW disarmament in the world (Even those who didn't join us!)

     After all those hardship labours and the great efforts of the main members, we were satisfied with the results. On the third day, we made a Yahoo group (youth_peace_association) and sent invitations to all new members accompanying some basic information about CW, NW and their devastating effects.

     Our next plan is to hold further workshops with more medical students in other medical universities and to attract more and more members!
